English abstract:
This paper describes the requirements of distributed Manufacturing Execution and Control Systems and the introduction of SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) as a standard protocol in manufacturing. SOAP is equally based on HTTP and XML and defines a method for exchanging information between two systems. In essence, this means that functionality of incorporated applications is exposed through service interfaces and can be invoked by the partner systems directly via SOAP.
