English abstract:
Together with the current trend towards high precision manufacturing and assembly systems, new challenges
have emerged through the demand of complex shapes and functional topographies on the micro/nanoscale.
In order to overcome these challenges, advanced metrology techniques are required. This paper proposes
integrated and systematic methods of monitoring and assessment of geometry and topography for high
precision manufacturing with more efficient and higher quality operations. The applications of advanced metrology techniques comprising both optical and non-optical methods, surface metrology for product characterization and supportive international standards are presented. Furthermore, innovative strategies with foreseeable future trends are discussed as a significant part of strategic research methodology.
