English abstract:
Seam tracking with optical sensors is a well-established technology for welding with industrial robots. The
presented paper shows experimental results on the detection limits of an optical tracking sensor which is
based on the principle of laser triangulation. Investigations on butt- and overlap joint configurations for
similar as well as for dissimilar materials are presented. Possible improvements of current seam tracking
systems are discussed briefly.
