"Microstructural observation of an enginnering ceramic liner cylinder";
Report No. Oktober, 2011; 6 pages.

English abstract:
Surface observations were carried out in the inner wall of a liner cylinder of Alulit-S in order to observe damage after several detonations during test. The top and bottom of the cylinder shows a significant change on the surface in comparison with the material without detonations. An increment of the damage on the surface is observed by ocular and scanning electron microscopy from the top to the bottom side. In the middle and bottom part of the inner wall the surface takes a
"welding cinder/scoria" appareance that it could be related to melting of the material due to the high temperature of the detonation flame. Some rest of iron are found in the bottom part related to the deposition of melted steel as reported for experiments with Nickel-base and Cobalt alloys.
