English abstract:
In a context of improvement of the quality standards, the pipemills need a reference in order to choose and use the best steel for their applications. Thus, the influence of the pipe forming process (conversion from plate to pipe) on the mechanical properties (especially yield strength) is really important. By different characterization methods, this study investigates the causes of the loss of yield strength after bending a heavy plate. The so-called Bauschinger effect is observed in steels of different chemical compositions and delivery conditions in order to determine the behavior of the effect and to be able to foresee the change of properties of the material.
